Contact the Americans

You choose the unexpected route and try to contact the Americans.

You compose a letter to Eisenhower stating your plans for Cuba and promising that you will never invade America.

To ease American concerns that you are going to force those who don't want to live under your regime to lives of hard labor, you propose a chance for them to leave the island and come to America.

You personally write and sign the letter, hoping that this man-to-man approach with Eisenhower will foster a cordial relationship between the two of you, or, at worst, an understanding of where you both stand.

You wait for the response.
