Air Strike

After having the Joint Chiefs draw up various plans of attack against Cuba, you narrowed the decision down to an invasion and an air strike. Similar to the decision that Truman faced at the end of WWII and the surrender of Japan, you were faced with choosing whether to risk American lives in an invasion or utilize the United States' air superiority to attack the missile sites.

You chose option number two, launching a massive air strike against the missile sites.

The attack is largely successful, wiping out the missile sites. There is minimal fallout from the nuclear weapons that were on the island, as they weren't armed and activated.

Castro vehemently denounces the attack as an act of war against Cuba and declares war.
