Attendees: Deb Lezama, Sue O’Hara, Sue Fine, Bev Gleason, Robin Cushing, Carol Brennan

Discussion: jobs to get done around the beach. Sue Fine stated she thinks if people knew more of what needs to get done around the beach they would volunteer. She offered to keep a binder of job descriptions. Sue reported she has talked with residents of Angelica Point about beach “renourishment”, and offered to keep us informed of available stated monies for which to apply to defer cost. Carol Brennan said she would contact Joanne Taylor on MV re seashore maintenance. Bev Gleason reported she has 2 people signed up to host “Coffee and Conversation”. Bev stated she will not organize these get-togethers next summer. Bev brought 2013 directories and suggested someone volunteer to update edition.

Action: Deb Lezama will write up job descriptions and put in individual job folders. Deb Lezama will report on this meeting at general meeting.

CBIA Membership Meeting

June 30th 10 am Raymond Hall

Secretary’s Report: Rob was not in attendance so no minutes presented/approved

Treasurer’s Report: Sue O’Hara handed out report; report will be filed

Committee Reports:

Swim lines: Christian McCullough has put the swim lines in

Raft: Howie O’Hara gave update on raft, stating it will require repairs this coming winter due to wear and tear.

Seaweed Removal: Paul O’Donnell will still organize the seaweed crews this year. Family Cookout: Mary and Phil Spillane chairing the Family Cookout Aug 3rd.

CBIA Wear: Jackie LeClair has ordered hats. They will be available on the 4th for $15 @.

Coffee and conversation: Bev Gleason stated she has no dates set at present. She requested someone else take over organizing next year.

Directories: Bev Gleason brought remaining directories from 2013. She stated disk with info has been lost. She suggested someone take over updating job

Flag raising: Deb thanked Gus Marchetti for continuing to raise and lower the flag on the triangle daily.

Kids’ Nights at RH: looking for older teens to manage

New Business

Held Volunteer meeting at 9 a.m. today; all chairs asked to write job description for individual job binders.

Beach pipe repair: Deb reported she called Barry Denham, Highway Dept, to repair beach pipe, which he did.

Beach renourishment: Deb reported she has calls in to Field Engineering and Charlie Dupont re beach renourishment per Conservation Commission. Deb reported she has no figures regarding cost at this time. Sue Fine reported she has been in contact with residents of Angelica Point who are potentially securing state funds for this and will keep CBIA informed of developments.

Mary O’Keefe asked if mailbox supports could be repaired at CBIA expense. Deb stated this is not a CBIA issue, but rather a responsibility of neighbors who own these mailboxes, citing other groups of mailboxes that have been repaired.

Announcements: races will be at 1 pm today. Next meeting on Sep 1st

Adjournment

Program: The Mattapoisett Land Trust reps, Mike Huguenin and Gary Johnson (?), gave a presentation and stated they need $150,000 more to buy the Hiller property for Pine Island Pond watershed. Mike stated the Land Trust will put a gravel parking lot up one of the dirt roads for access to trails. Mike explained what the parking lot and boardwalk will look like for pond access. Mike reiterated the land acquisition does not include beach rights.
