Arrival in Jhelum

This is difficult to determine the exact arrival date of Syed Abdul Khaliq Rahmatuulalaiahe to Chak Abdul Khaliq. According to one opinion, he migrated from Moinuddinpur (District Gujrat,Pakistan) and settled in this new area for preaching Islam . In my opinion, this seems to be correct as his immediate forefathers were buried in city of Moinuddinpur .

The other opinion might be that he accompanied Sher Shah Suri as a soldier and later decided to stay in this new vicinity.

The arrival date was narrated between 1540 to1545 AD by research scholar Syed Raffi-ud-din Sahib,a former educator and administrator in Punjab Education Department.

This is narrated that one day Sher Shah Suri was reciting Holy Quran. He made a mistake in reciting and, all off sudden he heard a voice from nowhere that king had rectited the verse incorrectly. Sher Shah Suri was surprised by this and wanted to find out who was correcting him then Mian Sahib manifested himself to the King to acknowledge that he had done so .After this miracle,King became his devotee and and offered this area to the Saint as a gift. The king also married one of his daughters to Mian Sahib.

The analysis of this anecdote and existing ground facts confirm the above story. This is due to the fact that land holders of the surrounding area of this village are mainly direct descendants of Syed Abdul Khaliq (RA) since centuries.

Progeny

Syed Sahib was Hafiz of Holy Quran and great Scholar. He led a life of simplicity and in preaching of Islam. His sons Syed AbdulGhaffar (RA), Shah Chand wali(RA),Shah Mageed(RA),Shah Siddiq(RA) continued his noble mission of Preaching. Hafiz Sher Shah was a noteable saint from Mian Sahib's lineage who followed the footsteps of his forefather and spread the light of Islam.Pir Muhammad Walait Shah Sahib (RA) and Pir Muhammad Ghous Shah Sahib (RA) were also light from the same beacon who played a vital role in Pakistan Movement from Jhelum.
