Education

Hazrat Syed Sher Shah is descendant of Mian Sahib (RA).His father Hafiz Syed Kamal was an eminent scholar .Hazrat Sher Shah received his religious education in the guidance of his respected father. He got expertise in the fields of Quran,Hadith and Fiqh.

Publications

There is remarkable stock of books found in the library of his descendants, written by Sher Shah (RA) in Persian and Arabic.Two of those books (about rejection of Rafawaz) were written in 1831 and 1840 respectively, are still preserved.

Another rare book of Hanfi Fiqh “Khazanat-ur-Rawayat by Qazi Chakan’ was re-written by him.The University of Punjab retains only one copy of this rare book published by another Writer. Professor Doctor Muhammad Ashfaq Jalali (Kharain,Gujrat) who acquired a copy of Hafiz Sher Shah (RA) this publication comments that “ handwriting of Hafiz Sher Shah (RA) is better than the Punjab University sample”.

Spiritual Guidance

He sought his spiritual guidance from Mian Muhammad Panah (Gujrat,Pakistan).

Foundation of Masjid

He laid the foundation of Masjid in the village.This Masjid is still populated with all its glory.

Demise and Urs Mubarak

He passed away around 1860 AD .The shrine of Hazrat Sher Shah is located in the cemetery affiliated with Jamia Masjid.His Urs Mubarak is celebrated on March 23, every year.

Descendants

He left His successors Hafiz Syed Gulab Shah and Syed Akbar Shah.Syed Gulab Shah was Hafiz of Quran and author of many books while Syed Akbar Shah was Numberdar (a political designation) of the village.His decendants family tree is given below

Birth

Pir Syed Muhammad Walait Shah (RA) was elder son of Hafiz Muhammad Ali (RA).He was born in 1875 in Chak Abdul Khaliq, Jhelum.Before his birth, a prophecy was in circle that a saint will be born who will lead the family and the people.

Education

He received his education from his Hafiz Syed Muhammad Ali and his grandfather Hafiz Syed Muhammad Gulab who were eminent scholars of the time. At the age of eighteen, he became expert in Quran, Hadith and Fiqh and his intelligence was admired by his contemporaries. He was gifted with Ilm-e-Ladunni (knowledge revealed to a person by Allah Subhanhu Watala).

Spiritual Guidance

After completion of formal education, he struggled for the salvation of the soul and affiliated himself to Silsila Qadria and received guidance by his father Hafiz Syed Muhammad Ali. He completed a Chilla (self fortification) in a cave near Mungola, on river Jhelum. He spent forty days in the cave isolating him from mortal temptation. He experienced strange happening during this process of self refinement. One day water of the river rose to his cave that endangered his life. He sought refugee from Allah during this ordeal and it is stated that water dismounted from the cave instantly. He survived there with one cup of milk daily. On successful completion of this spiritual task, he was received by his respected father and devotees. A magnificent ceremony was held in his honor and he was nominated spiritual successor in Silsila Qadria.

He was more inclined towards Silsila Naqshbandi and later decided to follow Pir Syed Jamat Ali Shah Mohadith Alipur for further spiritual exploration. But soon he realized that he was not destined for Alipur Sharif. Later, in a dream he saw a saint who was sitting on a throne and was inviting him. At that time there was Urs at Mohra Sharif, Rawalpindi. Pir Syed Walait (RA) asked permission from his father to visit Mohra sharif with his brother-in-law Syed Abdurahim Shah (RA) who was a devotee there. When he reached there he was surprised to see the saint who was the same person as he observed in the dream. The saint was Khawaja Muhammad Qasim Sadiq Rahmatullah alihe who was torch bearer of the Silsila Naqshband. Pir Muhammad Walait (RA) submitted himself to his Murshid and he was titled Shenshahe –Walait later days.

Demise

Pir Syed Muhammad Walait (RA) passed away on Feb 3, 1966.

Pir Syed Muhammad Ghous Shah Rahmatullaalihe was a descendant of Mian Sahib. He was a mystic and profound scholar of the time. He was born in 1895 AD. His father name is Hafiz Syed Muhammad Ali (RA).His family tree is mentioned below:

Education

He received his early education from his father who was Scholar and Hafiz-e-Quran. Later he moved to Lahore where he received a degree in Fiqh from Jamia Nomania. He benefitted from Maulana Muhammad G, Maulana Ghulam Murshid(Khatib Royal Masgid), and Maulana Muhammad Mehmood Gunjwi and other renowned scholars. He was a great orator with a sweet tone that attracted everyone who listened to his sermons.

Spiritual journey and Khilafat

He got his spiritual guidance from his respected father and was nominated his spiritual successor in Silsila Qadria.Later, he submitted himself to Pir of Mohra Sharif Hazrat Khawaja Muhammad Qasim Sadiq Rahmatulla Alihe for further spiritual exploration. He was respected devotee in front of his Murshid.This is narrated that everyone used to sit on the ground out of respect in the court of his Murshid. However, when Pir Muhammad Ghous Shah Sahib and his brother Pir Muhammad Walait Shah Sahib appeared in front of their Murshid sahib, the chairs were offered to them. Instead of all this, both brothers used to stand humbly in front of their Murshid Sahib.

Pakistan Movement

When we mention the role of Mashaikh in Pakistan Movement, Pir Sahib role will be remembered from the area of Jhelum.He participated and organized Muslim leage sessions and conventions under the leadership of Syed Jamait Ali Shah, Muhaddith Ali Puri.The author found a record that stated approximately ten thousands people attended this convention.After the Partition,Pir Sahib struggled for the implementation of Shariah and supported Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani's party in this regard.

Founder of Jamia Masjid Hanfia

The present Central Sunni Masjid was founded by Hafiz Syed Sher Shah(RA).However First Jumma prayer was performed in 1924 by Pir Syed Muhammad Walait (RA) and Pir Syed Muhammad Ghous(RA).This was first Jamia Masjid in Tehsil Dina.The Masjid still holds the title of Jamia and people from the village and surrounding area attend the the Jumma prayer.Pir Syed Muhammad Walait (RA) and Pir Syed Muhammad Ghous(RA) are Trustee of the Masjid.. The Masjid was reconstructed and renovated under the supervision of Pir Muhammad Shah Sahib and Pir Muhammad Farooq Shah Sahib around 1998. To this time(2011-11-03) Pir Ahmad Shah Sahib, Pir Syed Jamait Ali Sahib, Pir Muhammad Daud Shah Sahib, the descendants of both above-mentioned two Saints have been serving this House of Allah.

Demise and Shrine

He passed away on December 4, 1976.Thosunads of the his devotees participated in his funeral ceremony including renowned scholars of the time like Allama Qazi Ghulam Mehmood Hazarwi,Maulana Muhammad Sadiq,Mufti Azizullah and others. His son-in law Pir Muhammad Shah Sahib led the final prayer for this great mystic.He was buried in the cemetery attached with Jamia Masjid Hanfia ,Chak Abdul Khaliq.
