Margaret Mulvey Kilduff was the grandmother of Katie Banahan Burke. She was born in Ireland in 1798, and died in Sonora in 1877. She would be the earliest generation of our family to live in California.

Mary Ellen Burke (who married John McMurdo), Margaret ("Dant"), George, Bartholomew, and Theresa Burke (note that these children all shared the names of Banahan or Kilduff family members. (Also, Ellen is the name of Patrick Burke's first wife, Ellen Kineen Burke, who died about 1861 or '62). Bart may have been named after Patrick Burke's brother, Bart Burke, who settled in Virginia City, Nevada, and who was the mayor of the town and a county supervisor there.
