For easier license administration in large offices, a multi-user license is available. This license functions exactly like a standard annual license, but can be used to activate three or more workstations. Administrators of large workgroups are advised to consider this licensing option.
The license is valid for one year from the date of creation. Perpetual multi-user licenses do not exist.
Number of seats = number of license activations: from 3 to 100.
Price is the same as a standard annual license multiplied by the number of seats. AVC Pro for 10 seats will cost 150 x 10 = 1,500 euros.
One account for everyone. No need to maintain an up-to-date email list for your employees. No need to send this list to AVC technical support annually after each payment.
Employees won't forget their AVC account passwords. A shared password for one account is used.
You can distribute AVC account settings to all office computers as a REG file or as a Windows domain group policy. No need to configure anything on users' computers. In this case, employees don't even need to know the password for the administrator account to which the license is registered.
One validity period for everyone. No need to monitor the validity of each individual license and replenish the necessary accounts throughout the year.
Easily track the number of unused activations. AutoCAD is not required on the administrator's computer; the AVC_Updater utility can be used for administration.
Easily delete unnecessary activations and transfer plug-ins to new computers. As soon as a computer is removed from the activation list, a free activation immediately appears. And you can immediately activate another computer.
You can transfer activations from one computer to another every minute. This allows you to save on seats and use plugins only where they're needed immediately.
You can purchase seats "in reserve." If you expand your team, you won't have to contact AVC technical support, notify them, and top up your new account.
You can expand the number of workstations at any time. Simply purchase another multi-user or standard license for the same account. You can have as many licenses as you want on a single account. The validity period for these additional licenses will vary. However, this won't prevent you from upgrading them to a single, larger multi-user license next year.
All your employees will receive all plugin updates.
Offline activation is not possible. All computers must connect to the AVC servers.
Perpetual multi-user licenses do not exist. They are valid for one year only.
A multi-user license is not a network license. License transfer from one computer to another does not occur automatically. You must manually delete the old activation and click OK once on the other workstation. Network licenses for AVC do not exist.
One account for everyone. You will have to share the administrator account password with all users. Or learn how to work with the Windows registry or AD group policies.
One account for everyone. It is unacceptable to activate users' home computers simply because you cannot revoke the license from a terminated employee. The only thing you can do to prevent a user from activating plugins is to change the administrator account password.
Changing the administrator password will require changing it on all user computers (or distributing a new REG file).
The license does not grant the right to activate a second (home) computer for free. You only get the number of activations you paid for. For home computers not owned by the company, you'll need to purchase separate annual licenses for each employee's account. However, if an employee's laptop is company-owned and will be returned upon termination, you can simply purchase additional workstations for a single multi-user license.
One validity period for everyone. This is a risk. If you don't pay for the next license on time, no one in the office will be able to use AVC.
One validity period for everyone. If an employee activates their computer six months after the license starts, you've simply lost money. You can buy "spare" activations. But if no one uses them, the license will expire, and you've simply lost money.
Refunds for unused activations (workstations) are not available.
When the license expires, the first user to invoke the plugin command will receive a message prompting them to purchase a new license. If funds are already available in the account (and you should have taken care of this in advance), the user will simply click OK, and the program will issue a new license for the same number of workstations as last year. You can't prevent users from doing this because everyone works under the same account. Therefore, if you plan to change the number of workstations, purchase the new license a little in advance, a day before the current one expires.
The license validity period starts from the moment the money is received and the license is issued.
To activate the plugin on all engineers' computers in your office, follow these steps:
Install the plugin on the administrator's computer using the online installer. AutoCAD doesn't need to be installed on this computer.
Run the Avc_Updater update program. The installer should have created a shortcut for it in the Windows Start menu.
In the Account tab, enter the administrator's email address and password. Click Save. You now have an AVC account.
Pay the license fee for all your workstations. If you prefer to pay by bank transfer, send all the information to avc.programming@gmail.com and wait for the invoice. This payment may take a long time.
Wait for an email confirming your payment has been recorded in your account. This doesn't happen instantly; you'll have to wait.
Make sure you haven't blocked network activity for AutoCAD on users' computers. AutoCAD must have access to the db.avcslovakia.sk server on TCP port 1433. This is not a website or HTTP address, so don't confuse it. Learn more here.
Distribute a copy of the plugin folder to all working computers. For AVC Pro, this is %AppData%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\AVC_Pro.bundle. The plugin should be copied to each user's Windows account, not the administrator's account. Users don't need to have computer administrator rights; this isn't required for the plugin to work. You can use Windows Server Group Policies to distribute the folder. You can exclude the AVC_Updater and AVC_FileCopy utilities from copying; they are only needed if you want each computer to install plugin updates independently.
Extract the UserEmail and UserData values from your computer's registry under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AVC. You can save them to a REG file or use Windows Server Group Policies. Distribute these keys to all computers in the office.
If you use BricsCAD in your office, you will also need to copy the plugin's startup key from one of the computers. It depends on the BricsCAD version and looks something like this: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Bricsys\BricsCAD\V26x64\en_US\Applications\AVC_Pro.
Note that users can share plugin settings by exporting and importing settings. To comply with corporate standards, you will likely want to place the settings REG file somewhere on your office file server.
After completing these steps, users can start working. They are not required to enter a username or password. When the A>V>C> Options Palette first loads, users will see that they do not have any activated licenses. However, as soon as they run any plugin command, activation will occur automatically and without further prompting.
After each plugin update, you will need to install this update (it is best to run the online installer again). Then distribute this update to all computers. Updating AutoCAD usually doesn't require any plugin actions, but it's recommended to update to the latest version. The license is valid for all versions of AutoCAD. Plugin search and autoload will work in the new AutoCAD.
Updating BricsCAD requires re-registering the plugin's autoloader in a different section of the Windows registry.
At the end of your annual license period, you'll need to top up your account. The program will prompt you to purchase a new license, but your account must already be topped up by that date. Users will automatically activate their new licenses without any questions.
Changing the AVC account password will require re-distributing the UserData registry key.
