How to solve a problem
General recommendations
Most of the problems that arise when working with A>V>C> plugins can be solved by doing a few standard actions:
Find a description of a plugin or command on this site. And read it carefully to the end. Perhaps you simply could not configure the program by typing. Some commands have lists of known issues.
Watch the program messages on the command line. Never disable the command line. All messages of A>V>C> programs are displayed there, and, perhaps, there is already written a way to eliminate your problem.
Read the list of common questions and answers. Perhaps your problem is described there.
Install the latest AutoCAD / BricsCAD and all updates to it. AutoCAD almost does not change over the years, but many errors have been fixed. It is completely impossible to work in 3D with AutoCAD 2015. If you can not afford the new version of AutoCAD, there are cheaper and much better options, for example BricsCAD. At the same time, you can save the old version of AutoCAD - come back if the new one is not better.
Do not install anything superfluous, no add-ons, verticals and extra plugins. Do not put AutoCAD Mechanical if drawing in 3D.
Download & install the latest versions of A>V>C> plugins. Use the installer (install.exe) from this site, not from the Autodesk store.
If you have the Avc_Kit or Avc_Pro collection installed, be sure to remove all plugins from the duplicate commands that are already included in the collection.
Reset the plugin to default settings. In the settings dialog of each command you will find a separate reset button . It is located directly in the header after the team name and style switch.
If you have any problems connecting to the A>V>C> server, temporarily turn off the firewall and antivirus. If this helps, then you need to add AutoCAD to the list of exceptions in your firewall. Also check that the time on your computer is synchronized with the exact time servers.
Fix errors in your drawing. With a probability close to 100%, your drawing contains errors. For his treatment:
Explode all proxy objects
Remove the huge meshes and other objects left over from import from 3DS Max.
Turn History off in the properties of the solids (History = No) and set the system variable SOLIDHIST = 0 in your template.
Call _Purge and remove all the garbage.
Call _Audit and fix all the errors.
If all else fails, copy the desired (but not all) objects from the model and paste them into a new clean drawing. To save the display of models in viewports, copy and paste with a base point of 0,0,0 (Shift+Ctrl+C). You can also transfer views and annotations from sheets. Recreate all ModelDoc views (Viewbase).
If all else fails, write me a detailed report (Bug-report) about what is happening.
Report a bug
Write a version of AutoCAD/BricsCAD or take a picture of the About window. It makes no sense to write something if you have a very old version.
Write the version of Windows (Look in the About The System window, called by the Win+Break buttons)
Write the version A>V>C> of the plugin. It is visible on the command line at boot. Or open the AvcOptions configuration dialog and look at the About Plugin tab..
Pull the problem object into a separate dwg file or select the area in which the problem occurs with a red frame. Attach this dwg file to the email. If the file is large, use any online storage (DropBox, Google Docs, etc.) If the command gives an incorrect result, then I need two files - before the command is called and after it.
Take a screenshot with the error. Problem objects should be visible. The text in the error window should be read. The command line should be visible and the last 3-4 commands in it (Ctrl+9). It is advisable to see the properties panel with the properties of the problem object (Ctrl+1). Better yet, record a video, gif or screencast. Don't take pictures and videos with your phone!! It is pointless, nothing can be disassembled in such pictures. Be sure to use screen capture software. You already have Snipping, built into Windows.
If possible, upload the plug-in settings to the reg-file. The settings export button is in the settings dialog in the Avc_Kit and Avc_Pro plugin collections. Or take a screenshot with the settings dialog.
Most important: Write a detailed and clear description of how and when the problem occurs and when it does not occur. Be sure to write after what your actions the problem began to arise. Write down exactly what you have already done to fix the problem.
Send all these files or links to them to avc.programming@gmail.com. Be sure to include the name of the problem command/plugin and the nature of the problem in the subject line.
Adhere to the principle of "one problem - one letter".
Never take a picture of the screen from your phone. Instead, use the Scissors program built into Windows. Pictures copied to the clipboard can be pasted directly into the message text, without saving the file to disk.
If you make a sufficiently detailed description of the problem, then there is a chance that I will fix it on the same day.
