To conveniently manage licenses within your company or project group, you can assign a group manager. The manager will be able to monitor the license expiration dates of all employees and will have the right to transfer AVC licenses between users in the group. They will also be able to redistribute account balances.
For example, a manager can delete the activations of a terminated employee and transfer their licenses to a new employee's account.
A manager can maintain a reserve of funds in their account and quickly distribute them to accounts requiring new annual licenses.
If you have a multi-user license, you don't need to assign a manager, since you only have one account for everyone.
To create a project group, all team members must specify the manager's email address in their account settings. The manager will then see these accounts in their list of licenses.
At setup, the manager account must already be registered on the AVC server.
Any plugin user with their own licenses or any company employee who doesn't use AVC plugins at all can be appointed as a manager. For example, this could be a system administrator.
If the manager doesn't use CAD, they can install the AVC_Updater utility on their computer. It installs the same way as the plugin—from an archive or via an online installer. It also has the Account and Licenses tabs. The AVC_Updater utility is free, and the manager does not need any licenses unless he himself works in CAD.
A manager cannot assign themselves as a manager of other accounts. Employees must do this from their workstations. This restriction is intentional.
Employees must know the manager's email address and enter it accurately. There is no drop-down list in the Manager field. This is also intentional.
The project team has no name; everyone is united only by the manager's email address.
A group cannot have two managers.
After entering the manager's email address, click Save. You are now a member of the project team.
CAUTION! Do not enter anything in the Manager field unless you are absolutely sure you need it. You grant rights to manage not only licenses but also your money (the remaining balance on your account).
Once employees have set up accounts, the manager can open CAD or the AVC_Updater utility. In the License Management tab, they will see their account, and below them, all accounts connected to their project group.
Each line displays the employee's email address, name (as specified in the account settings), and balance.
Expanding each entry reveals a list of old and current licenses. Expired licenses can be hidden—note the checkbox below the list.
Each license line displays the program or collection name, expiration date, and the number of available seats per license. Standard paid licenses allow two seats to be activated per employee, but multi-user licenses are also available. Each license activation reduces this number.
Expanding the list below, a license will show all activations for that license. Each line will display the computer name and Windows username.
All employee data is stored on the A>V>C> server. To view it, the manager's computer must also be connected to the servers online. It is not possible to create a local licensing server for A>V>C> plugins.
Select any license, and the Move License button will appear above the list. Clicking this button will open a dialog box to select the source and destination of the transfer.
Select an employee, and you can transfer all of their licenses at once.
Transferring a license deletes all activations for that license. A new employee will need to reactivate it.
The balance of both accounts is preserved because the program will transfer old payments between accounts along with the license.
When selecting an employee, the Move Money button will appear. You can transfer all or part of your available funds to another account. The selection dialog allows you to enter any amount starting from 1 euro.
Managers can only top up their own account. No need to notify technical support that a large payment needs to be distributed among accounts. They can distribute the funds themselves as needed.
Select any computer and click the Delete button. The activation will be deleted, and the number of available workstations for the license will increase. The employee will be able to activate another computer.
