A very touristic area, in the summer when the Athenians go for vacation Monastiraki is the only lively district in Athens.
Monastiraki has two facets, one with a plethora of tourist traps shops, and an other more authentic, you should just go away from the central square and get lost in the narrow streets, you will find artisans and
antiquarians, so take your time, and taste this warm and colorful atmosphere.
