Kolonaki is the 'beautiful' district of Athens, there you will find well-dressed people, not too ugly buildings, coffees and restaurants overpriced. Everyone here is rich and beautiful and loves to show it. There are many art galleries around Kolonaki, most of them quite concervative, to find them follow this link:List of the galleries of Athens. Located along the slopes of Lycabettus Hill, in the center of Athens, Kolonaki touch a neighborhood quite different, the anarchist neighborhood of Exarchia. The two populations does not mix, they ostentatiously ignore each other. If you are French and homesick in Greece, you can always get a breath of French air at the French Institute of Athens which is located up the street Sina (Metro Panepistimio). The place is nice and cool, it has a garden courtyard and a cafe-bistro with PC and free internet access. The institute also has a substantial library collection, you can borrow books, movies and CDs. Many performances and screenings are scheduled all year long. The closest subways are Panepistimio, Syntagma, Evangelismos.
