FIND ACCOMMODATION IN ATHENS AS AN ERASMUS.
You land in Athens to start your Erasmus year and you have nowhere to sleep ... do not worry ... the best advice i can give is to go first to take a bed at the Youth Hostel Victor Hugo (16 odos Victor Hugo, near Omonia Square). It's not too expensive, about 15.00 euros per night. At the hostel you will find young people in the same situation as you, ERASMUS desperate for a pad, it is an opportunity to share your tips and maybe consider jointly seek a roommate. There is also a board with advertisement for room to rent.
YOUTH HOSTEL ATHENS
The Youth Hostel Victor Hugo in Athens (16 odos Victor Hugo, near the Omonia Square) is affiliated to the International Youth Hostel network. It's pretty clean and not too expensive, about 15.00 euros per night. At the hostel you will find people of all kinds, students, travelers, tourists, homeless people. This is a good opportunity to meet interesting people and share tips. The reception is young and friendly, the owner is adorable and chess addict, offer him a game, it does not demand better.

DO CAMPING IN ATHENS
There are two camping in Athens, one in Kiffisia and one on the road to Corinth, about 20 minutes by bus from the city center, but then frankly it's not too engaging because the area is very ugly.
It is recommended only for those who came to Greece with a camper. I would advise others to take a bed in a hostel or in a youth hostel around Omonia, at least you'll be at the heart of the city.
Athens is not really the place to do camping, wait to be in the islands.
HOTELS IN ATHENS
Accommodation in Athens has improved and prices have inevitably increased accordingly. During the tourist season, from May to October, it is necessary to book in advance and because prices are raising.
Cheap hotels and hostels in Athens are grouped into neighborhoods around Omonia Square. The neighborhood is not always well attended, fauna marginal engages in various traffics, however assault and theft are virtually nonexistent in Athens, is one of the safest cities in Europe, so no reason to be afraid .
We do not recommend to chose a small hotel around Omonia, they are not always clean and some of them are used to bring girls.
The only official youth hostel of Athens is located in this district, odos Victor Hugo, the hostel is very nice and not too expensive, about 15 euros per night.
Other parts of Athens offers better hotels. More you get closer to the Acropolis and Plaka more the hotels are good and expensive. Near the Acropolis we recommend, Acropolis hotel, about 80 euros per night.
For a higher fee, we recommend The Athens Gate Hotel, located on Sygrou Avenue, not far from the Acropolis, it offers an excellent service and costs around 150 euros per night.
Down in price, the hotel Exarchion is also appreciated by travelers, it is located in the district of Exarchia.
