Reflections on ARNA 2014 Conference

Reflections on the 2014 Action Research Network of the Americas (ARNA) Conference: Enacting Our Beliefs

Joseph Shosh, Moravian College, USA and Catherine D. Bruce, Trent University, Canada, ARNA 2014 Conference Co-Chairs

The Action Research Network of the Americas (ARNA) is a relatively new organization with the goal of bringing action researchers together to debate and enrich our understandings of what it means to be an action researcher. With well over 100 members, the organization held its inaugural ARNA conference in San Francisco in 2013 to continue to expand our understandings of how action researchers throughout the Americas and indeed, around the world, are involved in the continuous invention and reinvention of knowledge. For ARNA’s second annual conference on the Moravian College campus in Pennsylvania’s Historic Moravian Bethlehem National Landmark District in May of 2014, we spent three incredible days together exploring why the action-oriented research that we conduct actually matters.
