Flipped Classrooms: Teachers’ Perceptions

Nathan Snyder, Fordham University, NYC iSchool, New York City, NY, USA

Abstract:

This workshop set out to define the flipped learning model, provide various practitioner exemplars, and start a dialogue regarding the perceptions associated with utilizing this model in the classroom. As a teacher in a school, the NYC iSchool, where the flipped learning model is used by many teachers on a daily basis, I implemented a research study to discover teachers’ perceptions regarding its effectiveness. Using the model occasionally in my own practice, I wanted to see if other teachers were having similar reservations about the implementation and the effectiveness of the flipped learning model.
