A Ministry of Hope, Healing & Holiness

Genesis 3:9 The Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?"

1 Kings 19:9b The word of the LORD came: "What are you doing here?"

Thomas Guthrie Speaking To The Heart, “The True Test”, 1873

To know ourselves, to know what we are and where we are, is of all knowledge the most important.

D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

"The Search For Happiness" on Psalm 1

"You are where you are, and you must start from there whether you like it or not."

"From the Mirage to Christ" on Isaiah 35:7

"Where are you on your journey? How do you feel about your life? Have you found satisfaction? Peace? Joy? Is all well with your soul? Have you found that for which you have been looking and searching? Where do you stand with God?"

J.C. Ryle, The Upper Room, Being a Few Truths for the Times, Chapter V Jeremiah 6:16 “The Good Way”, 1883

Jeremiah says to you, “Stand, and see, and ask.” I take these words to be a call to thought and consideration. They are as though the prophet said, “Stop and think. Stand still, pause, and reflect. Look within, behind, and before. Do nothing rashly. What are you doing? Where are you going? What will be the end and consequence of your present line of action? Stop and think.”

Haggai 1:5 & 7

This is what the LORD Almighty says: "Give careful thought to your ways."

(NLT) "Look at what’s happening to you!"

Where are you? Where are you headed? Is the life you are living, the sin you are contemplating, worth Christ’s dying?

Are you paying attention to God's warning and listening to His word?

Proverbs 14:12

There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to destruction.

C.S. Lewis

“The Pilgrim’s Regress”, 1933

The same road leads everyone home and a thousand roads lead into the wilderness.

Mere Christianity

We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be and if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case, the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man. There is nothing progressive about being pigheaded and refusing to admit a mistake.

(When)...we are on the wrong road...we must go back. Going back is the quickest way forward.

James R. Sherman in Rejection, possibly quoting C.S. Lewis

You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.

G. Campbell Morgan "His Workmanship" wp01-19.docx (live.com)

If I have missed my way what is the best thing to do? The only thing to do is to get back to the point where I lost my way and start again. It is a long tramp for some of us. How many years is it since you got out of the will of God? You must get back to that point and obey, and from that point you may start again and find the way of His appointing.

Psalm 118:5 (NIV 1984)

In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered by setting me free.

It is our prayer that the Holy Spirit will use this site to free those in bondage to sin. We believe, however, that forgiveness and healing can not take place apart from a personal salvation relationship with Jesus Christ.

Please review What Are You Waiting For?

Establish today the certainty that you have been born again and know God as Father, Jesus as Redeemer and Friend, and that the Holy Spirit lives within you as your Sustainer and Guide.

Our primary resources is Another Days Journey Back Home.docx but we hope the other articles will help you as you walk back to the Father's love. The life destroying cancer of sexual sin requires radical treatment, and we would encourage you to work through the PureLife and Radical documents.

Jesus is calling you to return, and His word promises that He will walk with you. Take Him at His word. (John 4:50b) Keep your eyes on Him - not your sin. (See Looking Unto Jesus)

The farther you have wandered, the longer and more difficult the journey home may be. It will be a walk, not a sprint, and you will stumble. The failure is not in falling, but in remaining there. (Proverbs 24:16) The struggle will be easier with brothers at your side, so we urge you to find a Christian support and accountability group in your community.

Only Jesus can lift the crushed spirit of those you have betrayed. Only by the power of the Holy Spirit can their wounded hearts be healed. But they can forgive; and you can accept God's forgiveness.

You will remain enslaved, however, until:

1. You are honest with God, and yourself - Proverbs 5:21, 20:27, 2 Corinthians 13:5

2. You want to get well - Psalm 103:1-5, John 5:6

3. Your hard heart is broken - Psalm 51, Hebrew 3:12-15

4. You thirst for God more than your sin - Psalm 63

5. You decide that holiness is more important than your happiness - 1 Peter 1:16, Romans 6:22

6. You surrender to Christ and the cross - Matthew 16:24 (See Crucified With Christ )
