Principles:
1. Faith comes by hearing the word of God - Romans 10:17
We are commanded to both show and share the Gospel, and the Holy Spirit can use our lives, love, and words to draw the lost to Jesus, but it is not our life or testimony but the word of God that saves.
Acts 8:35 - Philip began with...Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.
Acts 17:22 - Paul...reasoned with them from Scripture.
C.H. Spurgeon The Treasury of David on Psalm 19:7 "The law of the Lord is perfect; converting the soul."
The great means of the conversion of sinners is the Word of God...it is God's Word (not) man's comment on God's Word which is made mighty (has power to save) with souls.
2. Ask "What does it say to you?" - (Luke 10:26, Acts 8:30) and let the Holy Spirit convict and convince.
3. Be prepared and willing, and the Holy Spirit will guide your words (John 3:34) but you must know (head and heart) the Good News in order to share the Good News.
4. A Jesus other than the Jesus of the Bible is no savior. Be sure HE is the Savior you are presenting - 1 Corinthians 2:2
Very few of us will evangelize a people group that has never heard the name of Jesus, but all of us will share the Gospel with someone who has a false, non-Biblical view of the work and person of Jesus Christ.
The Good News
God loves you
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. – Romans 5:8
The bad news - all are sinners
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. – Romans 3:23
As it is written: “none is righteous, no, not one...” – Romans 3:10
The bad news and the good news - God's remedy for sin
For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 6:23
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. – John 1:12
The best news - All may be saved by faith in Jesus Christ
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
Whoever hears my words and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned... - John 5:24
For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life... - John 6:40
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. – 1 John 5:13
What must I do to be saved?
Agree that I am a sinner and repent of my sins (consider my way, confess, and turn). (Luke 24:47, Acts 3:19)
Believe Jesus died for my sins and proved His power over sin and death by the resurrection. (Romans 10:9)
Confess that Jesus is Lord of my life.
Decide to give control of my life (heart, soul, mind and body) to Jesus.
To decide is to commit to a new-life, and a life-long process as we "work out" the salvation we have received (Philippians 2:12) with the help of the Holy Spirit. We take up His yoke of obedience and surrender (Matthew 11:28-30), take up our cross of self-denial and suffering (Matthew 16:24-25), and die to sin, self, and the world (Galatians 2:20), and follow Him (Matthew 4:19); looking (Romans 8:29) and thinking (Philippians 2:5) more and more like Jesus.
Entirely commit to your decision
Find a Bible believing and teaching fellowship and Follow Jesus in baptism as a public testimony, symbolic of your death to the old life and your new “Born Again” life in Christ Jesus.
Go and tell, using your time, talents, and resources in building Christ's kingdom in evangelism and discipleship. (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8)
A believer's prayer
Lord Jesus, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me for I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for my sins, and rose again. I have decided this day to give my life, my whole life, to you. Thank you for forgiving my sins, for making me a new person, for filling me with the Holy Spirit, and for your promise of eternal life with you in heaven. I pray that you will take my life, which is now your life, and use it for your purpose and God's glory.

1. The gospel is a fact; therefore tell it simply.
2. It is a joyful fact; therefore tell it cheerily
3. It is an entrusted fact; therefore tell it faithfully.
4. It is a fact of infinite (importance); therefore tell it earnestly.
5. It is a fact of infinite love; therefore tell it (passionately).
6. It is a fact difficult of comprehension to many; therefore tell it with illustration.
7. It is a fact about a person; therefore preach Christ.
C.H. Spurgeon “How Faith Comes”
John 4:42 “Now we believe…for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Savior of the world.”

If it be God’s work, let us have no doubts, much less any despondencies, concerning it, but let us continue to put ourselves into His hand, that He may use us anywhere that He pleases, for we know not where He will most glorify His name through our feeble instrumentality.
Let not shame, with regard to the past, make you ashamed to confess the Christ of the present, and to (testify) that He has wrought a great work upon you. Let your message be your own personal testimony—what you have yourself seen, and heard, and tasted, and handled, and felt of the good Word of God.
“Aiming for Conversions in Our Preaching”
The best way to preach sinners to Christ is to preach Christ to sinners.
The Treasury of David on Psalm 71:24 "My tongue also shall talk of Thy righteousness all the day long."
My theme shall be Thy way of justifying sinners, the glorious display of Thy righteousness and grace in Thy dear Son; and this most fresh and never-to-be-exhausted subject shall be ever with me, from the rising of the sun to the going down of the same.

George Swinnock “The Sincere Free Offer of the Gospel” on John 1:29
The hammer of the law may break the icy heart of man with terrors and horrors, and yet it may remain ice still, unchanged; but when the fire of love kindly thaweth its ice, it is changed and dissolved…
(We must share both the law and the love of God)
