Preparing For Your Mission Trip

Psalm 91:11, 121:7b-8a

The LORD will command his angels concerning you, to guard you in all your ways...

The LORD will watch over your life...

The Lord will watch over your coming and going...

Spiritual preparation

You will be challenged by Satan-be ready and armed with the Word.

Gather faithful prayer partners and start praying NOW.

Give others the opportunity to be blessed by supporting you.

Share your plans with your friends, your church and Bible study.

Pray for a servant heart, listening ears, and a self-less spirit.

Make 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 and Act 26:18 your daily prayers.

Ask:

What is God up to in my life?

What does He want to teach me from this experience?

How does He want to change me?

What attitude should I leave at home?

Read about the country and the culture.

Bring:

  2. Your carry-on bag must be a small backpack (NOT a rolling suitcase which will not roll in gravel and mud) with: your personal meds, a change of clothes, wet wipes, toilet tissue, water bottle, small flashlight, pen, and your Bible.

You’ll take your backpack with you to each ministry site.

 3. Your personal checked bag is limited to 50 pounds. A large water-resistant rolling duffle bag works well. Have a 2nd supply of personal meds in the checked bag.

4. You may be given a second checked bag filled with team supplies.

Medical:

You should be up to date on Tetanus.

            You need Hepatitis A vaccine.

We have reviewed the CDC recommendations and do NOT believe malaria prophylaxis is needed for travel to the   areas we visit because of the altitude.

Be flexible, be safe, be smiling; and remember that mission trips never turn out as planned because the Holy Spirit always has a better plan!
