Sleep Mode Power Saving for Video Telephony over WiMAX Network

• Summary: Video telephony being relatively resource hungry application, requires more bandwidth and power on the device. Power saving is not optimized for multi-media application like video telephony which requires strict latency andQoS guar-antee. Cross layer power saving algorithm for PSC-III focused onvideo telephony is proposed. This is obtained without any change in existing network architecture. Ex-pression for maximum sleep duration that can be achieved by the proposed algorithm is presented.

DRX mechanism for Video Streaming over TDD-LTE Network

• Summary: Suggest mechanism for estimating video traffic at an intermediate node. This is achieved with SARIMA based time series prediction and care fulselection of encoding parameters and transport protocol. DRX mechanism forvideo streaming over TDD-LTE with acceptable QoS and QoE is presented. It relies on prediction of DRX opportunities for an UE during video streaming over RTP at the eNodeB through cognition of application layer traffic.

Modeling and Prediction of Video frame Trace

• Summary: Modeling and prediction of VP8 encoded video is performed by Time Series Prediction Technique. Seasonal Auto-regressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA) model is found to be suitable based on properties of video frame trace and used for modeling . Based on the obtained parameters from the trace modeling, subsequent frame size is predicted. The model is found to be accurate for majority of video frame traces. SARIMA model is compared with other models used for predicting video frame trace and its suitability is shown in terms of fitness of model. Akaike information criterion (AIC) is used for selecting and comparing the best suitable model and parameters. Most accurate value of GOP (Group of picture) is obtained for video frame trace prediction.

Performance Evaluation and porting of VP8 Video Codec on Maemo OS

• Summary: VP8 video codec is recently released by Google as open source, which has already found its way into the HTML5 standard for web browsers. Comparative study between VP8 and H.264/MPEG-4 AVC is performed for compression efficiency, video traffic variability and objective video quality. VP8 video codec is ported on NOKIA N900 for video codec performance evaluation.

Reversible Watermarking using Histogram Shifting Technique

• Summary: Reversible watermarking is a special category of watermarking where data hiding is done without loss of information, so that it can be retrieved and restored to its original form whenever required. Two algorithms(i) Difference Ex-pansion and(ii)LSB Embedding are considered for watermarking grey scale image with binary image.

Enhancement of Kobby

• Summary: Kobby is an open-source collaborative editor for KDE Desktop Environment. Two users can edit a document simultaneously using it. Libqinfinity is a Qt-style interface to libinfinity, used by Kobby. Kobby has inheriteddocument management functionality from Infinoted server that is also responsible for handling user created documents at server side. Our contribution is implementing (i) user-name and password based authentication from server along with(ii)chat functionality to existing Kobby client to make users communicate easily.

Interoperability of Messaging Service between GSM and IMS networks

• Summary: This is the service which enables users to send SMS and IM over IMS based network and also provide intraoperability between GSM and IMS network. Open IMS Core provides IMS network and to enter into GSM network, we use analog modem. Some of the interesting Use Cases implemented are Tele-voting, Alert service, IM and SMS over IP. The Project is tested on NOKIA 810 device. This work had been selected for demo at IEEE-IMSAA 09 International Conference,

Feature Based Mutual Information Approach for Biomedical Image Registration

• Summary: We propose an image registration scheme in the feature plane. The registration process is based on the notion of maximization of mutual information. Features have been selected over a window and based on the feature images are generated. Registration process is carried out in the image plane and also in feature image plane. We have also considered weighted features and registered the image by maximizing the mutual information. Feature based registration could also be tested.

with noisy CT and MRI images.
