scratch box

with the advancement of technology one can compile a code intended to work on sm other device, or simply we can create an application on our pc which can run on other device like sm dsp processors or microcontrollers or mobile devices or sm other embedded devices.it sounds like what is so special in it.

yes what makes difference is the limitation of target device and if the device is having some OS running then different version of OS.

its similar to run a windows application on Linux machine.

but here things r not that much complicated.

we have generally common Linux environment on both host and destination device.

and to make environment similar we have scratch box.

its a software that provides an abstracted platform for developing applications

i come to know about black-fin dsp processor and some Nokia devices.

where we can so called install our application and make it available to people.

similar concept applies for programming a microcontroller .
