DESCRIPTION: Agricultural Science I introduces students to the production of domesticated livestock and its importance to our local, state and national economies. Students will be introduced to Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Oxy-acetylene torch operation. Each student will begin an SAE project. This project will extend learning beyond the classroom walls. Students can choose the type and scope of their SAE project. Each student will learn how to keep accurate records using the Missouri Record Keeping books. Finally, students will join the Ste. Genevieve FFA chapter, participating in events, filling out award applications, and competing in local, area and state contests.
Agriculture Science II 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: FFA member, FFA Dues, project construction.
DESCRIPTION: Agricultural Science II introduces agronomy to students. Agronomy is the study of soils and crops, as well as, methods of protecting soils and crops from pests such as weeds and insects. Students will also study entomology and forestry as a component of this course. Students will be introduced to Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Oxy-acetylene welding operations. Each student will continue their SAE project as they try to expand the project either monetarily or on scope and scale. Finally, students will join the Ste. Genevieve chapter participating in events, filling out award applications, and competing in local, area and state contests.
Fish Wildlife Management 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

DESCRIPTION: Fish and Wildlife Management prepares students for careers in the Missouri conservation field, outdoor recreational activities in the conservation and/or improvement of natural resources such as oil, water, air, forests, fish and wildlife for economic and recreational purposes. Students will participate and complete the Missouri Hunter Education course during class time. Each student will continue their SAE project as they try to expand the project either monetarily or on scope and scale. Students will join the Ste. Genevieve FFA chapter participating in events, filling out proficiency award applications, applying for the State FFA degree and competing in local, area and state contests. Students completing this course after taking both Agricultural Science I and Agricultural Science II may be eligible for an hour of embedded science credit upon successful completion of testing requirements.
Landscaping 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: FFA dues, FFA member, major landscaping project.
DESCRIPTION: Turf and Landscape Management encompasses the study of soils and fertilizers for sod production, the basic techniques of landscape design, landscape construction, installation, and maintenance. This course will include hands-on class landscape projects from design to installation. Students completing this course will receive three college credit hour for landscaping through Southeast Missouri State University. Students completing this course after taking both Agricultural Science I and Agricultural Science II may be eligible for an hour of embedded science credit upon successful completion of testing requirements. Animal Science 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

DESCRIPTION: Animal Science is an advance level class in the area of the science of livestock animals. The course covers animal nutrition, genetics, reproduction, and health. Students are given the training for a career in veterinary medicine or animal biology. Each student will continue their SAE project as they try to expand the project either monetarily or on scope and scale. Students will join the Ste. Genevieve FFA chapter participating in events, filling out proficiency award applications, applying for the State FFA degree and participating in local, area and state contests. Students completing this course after taking both Agricultural Science I and Agricultural Science II may be eligible for an hour of embedded science credit upon successful completion of testing requirements. MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: member; plan, design, and build an agriculture construction project, FFA dues, construction.
DESCRIPTION: Agricultural Construction Skills advances mechanical skills obtained in prior vocational agricultural courses. Large mechanics projects can be built or overhauled. Each student will continue their SAE project as they try to expand the project either monetarily or on scope and scale. Students will join the Ste. Genevieve FFA chapter participating in events, filling out proficiency award applications, applying for the State FFA degree and competing in local, area and state contests.
Agriculture SAE 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

PRE-REQUISITES: Agricultural Science I and Agricultural Science II
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: Placement in an agricultural-related occupation. Student must be in good standing with the school. FFA dues, possible on-the-job expenses.
DESCRIPTION: Supervised Agriculture Experience provides hands on training for students who are released on school time to complete a cooperative occupational experience at an approved agribusiness training station. A signed training agreement and training plan must be completed for each student. Each student enrolled in this course is responsible for keeping up to date on FFA activities and is eligible for participating in events, filling out proficiency award applications, applying for the State or American FFA degree or (State degree if they were not obtained during the junior year) and competing in local, area and state contests.
Agriculture Business Management 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

DESCRIPTION: Agricultural Farm Management and Agribusiness covers different types of farming, income taxes, insurance, profit maximizing principles, and farm machinery. In the agri-business area, it covers the different types and how they function, human relations, and communication (verbal and written). Business records and procedures will be analyzed. Each student will continue their SAE project as they try to expand the project either monetarily or on scope and scale. Students will join the Ste. Genevieve FFA Chapter participating in events, filling award applications, and competing in local, area, and state contests. Students completing this course after taking both Agriculture Science I and Agriculture Science II may be eligible for an hour of embedded credit of personal finance upon successful completion of testing requirements.
