Students will learn industry-standard practices and to collaborate on live productions to apply their skills in a real-world setting. This class will count as a Fine Art Elective or General Elective.

DESCRIPTION: This dynamic and interactive course introduces students to the fundamentals of acting and theatrical performance. Through a blend of exercises, scene work, and live performance opportunities, students will develop essential acting skills, enhance their stage presence, and explore the creative process of embodying a character. Emphasis is placed on collaboration, self-expression, and the development of confidence in front of an audience. Students will learn industry-standard practices and collaborate on live productions to apply their skills in a real-world setting. This class will count as a Fine Art Elective or General Elective.

Yearbook 1.00 Credit 2 SEMESTERS

PREREQUISITES: Teacher recommendation, permission of instructor, recommend C average in English. Freshmen may qualify with a specific recommendation from 8th grade Publications Teacher. Those with previous publication experience will be considered first. This class will count toward a practical art credit for graduation.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: Design and production of Dragon yearbook, including planning, interviewing, writing, photography, and design.
DESCRIPTION: The Publications/Yearbook class studies yearbook production with emphasis on writing skills, photography, and design. Class members produce the high school yearbook in a two-semester course. All students are required to write for publication and to sell advertising. Extra time after school is required to take photos at after-school events. This class will not count toward English credit for graduation. This class can be taken more than once.
