Body Conditioning 0.50 Credit 1 SEMESTER

PREREQUISITES: Elective course to be taken only after one full credit of required physical education has been earned.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: Physical fitness tests.
DESCRIPTION: Body Conditioning is a course in which students can individualize a training program for their particular needs. These programs will be determined by the instructor and the student. Physical fitness tests will be given at least once each semester. Individualized programs to develop a particular area(s) of a student’s body may be developed. Example legs, arms, lower body, upper body, etc. Basically the major goal is to develop the overall body and improve overall fitness. This class may be taken more than once. Only seniors can take the course concurrently with Team Sports.
Team Sports 0.50 Credit 1 SEMESTER

PREREQUISITES: Elective course to be taken only after one full credit of required physical education has been earned.
MAJOR REQUIREMENTS OR PROJECTS: Physical fitness test Quarter 1 and Quarter 4.
DESCRIPTION: Team Sports is available for those students who choose to take an elective physical education course for the enjoyment of activity. Some lifetime sports are introduced, mostly vigorous activities with large muscle activity predominating. Types of activities include: basketball, flag football, Frisbee football, soccer-both indoor and outdoor, speedball, volleyball, burnout, wiffle ball, weight lifting, walking, and many other activities that our facility can accommodate. This class may be taken more than once. Only seniors can take the course concurrently with Body Conditioning.

DESCRIPTION: Health is a semester course that is required for all students. Students learn about total health-physical, mental and social well-being. Health is structured toward wellness and preventive health as well as safety measures. Health helps students choose responsible behaviors and improve and safeguard one’s health.
