Credit Recovery & Summer School

PROCEDURES FOR GRADE REPORTING AND TUTORING AND TRANSCRIPTING FOR CREDIT RECOVERY, CORRESPONDENCE COURSES, AND SUMMER SCHOOL



Credit Recovery

  1. Students are enrolled in the elective course “Credit Recovery.” For this course they will receive a regular grade and points toward GPA.

  2. Students will be simultaneously enrolled in “CR Algebra I” or “CR English I” or whatever course they are using a software program to recoup lost credit for a course they have previously failed in the regular classroom. For this course, they will receive only Credit/No Credit and no points toward GPA. They only re-gain the lost credit toward graduation.

Summer School/Correspondence Courses

  1. Students do not receive a grade for these courses; they only receive Credit/No Credit.

  2. Students do not receive points toward GPA for these courses. They will only regain the lost credit for a course they previously failed in the regular classroom.*

  3. All correspondence courses must be approved through the principal’s office.

* Exception: With the principal’s approval, a student may take a correspondence course for a class that he/she has not taken in the classroom in order to be able to graduate. Students do not receive points toward GPA for these courses. Students do not receive a grade for these courses; they only receive Credit/No Credit.
