NO SCHOOL LABOR DAY 9/1/25
We will not have school next Monday 9/1/25 in recognition of Labor Day.Â
HIGHLAND PARENT ADVISORY GROUP INTEREST
We have a strong and active Parent Advisory Group here at Highland. We meet at least every other month on Mondays' at 3pm throughout the school year. This group has been a driving force behind several improvements we have made at Highland High School. We as a school rely heavily on the feedback, leadership, and support from this group. We are so appreciative of those that have been a part and helped us lead Highland through continued improvement towards excellence. Please fill out the Highland Parent Advisory Group Interest Form if you are interested in being a part of this group this school year and we will begin meeting soon.Â
ONGOING CONSTRUCTION & PARKING
The construction of the Auditorium, Band, Choir, Orchestra, Drama, and general classrooms along with new gyms, weightroom, wrestling room, cafeteria, etc are all progressing. Half of our science classrooms (C Wing) were remodeled over the summer and we may experience a couple weeks when school starts of some finishing touches with those classrooms. The other science classrooms (Upper B Wing) are scheduled for next summer. It is exciting, but does come with some inconveniences that are just part of the process. Much of our south student parking lot is being used for construction purposes. As a result, we expanded the newly formed parking lot in front of the school.Â
Students will need to park in the parking lot in front of the school.Â
If there are no parking spaces available then students can park in the gravel lot at the fairgrounds just west of Highland High School.Â
Students who do not leave at lunch can park in the south parking lot, but these spaces are limited. Again these spaces are only to be used by students who do not leave at lunch.Â
Do not park in parking spots marked as Visitor, handicap, or are assigned to teachers.Â
Do not park in any spot that is not assigned for parking (fire lanes, end of designated parking areas, etc.)
Students parked illegally will be ticketed and may be towed.
We will have a lot of students walking across the road in front of the school from the parking lot. Those crossing, please use the cross walks provided. Let's work to keep everyone safe by driving slowly and carefully around the school being aware of students, construction equipment, vehicles, construction areas, etc. Please contact school administration with any questions or concerns. All updates and information on construction can be found at Highland Rebuild.Â
