COLLEGE & CAREER ADVISORS
Idaho Launch 1st Contingent Offers Today, Dec. 16 !!
Any senior who applied to the Idaho Launch grant on the Scholarship Idaho platform should learn today by email, December 16th, whether their Launch application was accepted in the first round of contingent offers. Students will get a hard copy offer letter in the mail and in their personal email, again today, December 16. Students need to 1) check their personal email for a contingent offer, and then 2)Â take action to accept or decline a contingent offer by 17 January 2025. The Launch grant is good for $8,000 total over two years of training or college, so DO NOT miss these important communications. Just ask the CCAs if you have any questions.
Idaho Launch Applicants: Complete your Career Pathway Plan
Students, if you chose to apply to the Idaho Launch grant in Scholarship Idaho, please be SURE to complete the four modules that comprise the Career Pathway Plan on Next Steps Idaho. Do you know where to find those? Your Launch grant monies cannot be released until those four modules are done (and you have re-submitted your Launch grant application). Stop by the CCAs and we’ll show you where to find them and give you a quick primer on what they will ask of you – which is not hard and does not take a great deal of time. But it’s important and we don’t want students to miss out.
If you Missed FAFSA Night, There’s a FAFSA Night # 2, January 14th
If you missed last week’s first FAFSA Night, never fear, we have another one planned: Tuesday, January 14th, starting at 6 pm, in Highland’s Library. As before, we will have help from financial aid experts and other college personnel, along with Highland staff – we’ll have all the support and encouragement a student and parent / guardian could ask for. It is optimal for the student AND parent / guardian to come together to FAFSA Night because the one (student) invites the other (parent / guardian) to contribute. The parent / guardian can bring a personal laptop because there will be guest wifi. Mark your calendar to be there and we’ll help you get this important step done.
Create your FSA ID !
There is no FAFSA, or FAFSA submission, without an FSA ID. If you have not yet established your FSA ID, please visit the CCAs this week to get one on the books. Bring your Social Security # to the CCAs in C-36 and get that task done before you leave for your winter break. Then you’ll be good to go for FAFSA Night # 2 next month.
We wish the Highland community a lovely holiday season and all good things in 2025.
