Designs of what the reconstruction will look like are on display at the district office and in the front office at Highland High School. We are very excited by this news and grateful for everyone involved. We appreciate the leadership and tireless work of our school board of trustees and district administration as well as the committee of community and school persons tasked with this responsibility. Please contact Principal Wallace with any questions. This is an exciting time!Â

COLLEGE & CAREER ADVISORS
Higher Ed + Morning for Juniors, THIS Wed., March 12th
Every spring, Highland invites colleges, universities, and training programs, as well as military representatives, career services professionals, local experts on apprenticeships, financial aid and scholarships staff, and more to school to get the wheels of our junior students turning. It’s called Higher Ed + Morning. Juniors will choose three sessions from 16 different offerings (ten colleges / training programs) plus professional presentations. It will take place during the first and second hours this Wednesday, March 12th, and all junior students with classes at Highland in the morning are expected to participate. Students will report to their first hour where attendance will be taken, and then there will be announcements for them to pass to the first of their three sessions. Ask your junior student what they thought. The time to be thinking about the future is . . . now!
Fearless Future Scholarship – Highland Students Only ! Deadline!
The Fearless Future Scholarship provides a $1,000 scholarship just for Highland students, and which can be used for training, college, career technical education. All that’s required is a 60-second video uploaded to the Senior Google classroom (as an assignment) that answers two questions found in the assignment. Easy! The deadline is Monday, March 17th – a week from today. Go to the Fearless Future Scholarship assignment in the Senior Google classroom and start creating. Only ONE student has submitted a video thus far! That makes good odds for the one student, but surely more of you are looking for scholarship money. If you have any questions, stop by and ask the CCAs in C-36. Don’t delay.
Seniors: ISU Academic Signing Event, NEXT Wed., March 19th
If you are a senior, have been accepted to Idaho State University, and been awarded a grid scholarship upon your acceptance, we want to honor that achievement with an Academic Signing event next Wednesday, March 19th. During the 1st hour of classes, we will gather in the library, have you sign a certificate of achievement, and ply you with donuts, cheers, and morning beverages. Families and fans are also invited. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend.Â
University of Utah here, Thurs., March 13th
Our admissions rep from the University of Utah will be here, at school, this Thursday, March 13th, at 10:15 am, for about an hour or so, in the CCA area, C-36. Great opportunity to explore, get your questions answered, schedule a tour, or commit to enroll.
There is a lot going on, a lot to look forward to, and it is sometimes (um, often) overwhelming. The CCAs can’t always solve “overwhelm,” but we have tools and information to help students and families feel confident and excited about what is ahead.
Your friendly neighborhood CCAs,
Alice Rowe
