GOAL(s): The goal of my project was to learn about the history of Indigenous people and make Fringe earrings that the Native females wear. The final products that I was going to make were a Spear, a piece of clothing that the Natives wore, and Fringe earrings. The one that I stuck with was making fringe earrings, in the end, none of these products got made. The resource that I used was a YouTube video on how to make fringe earrings and websites explaining how to do it. I chose this topic because I've always wanted to know more about Indigenous people and how they lived. I chose the product because I've seen a lot of fringe earrings before and always thought that they looked cool. As well as it would have been a new skill that I would learn; Bead stitching
OUTCOME: All of the paper components for the project are finished. Google form for the project proposal was the first thing that got finished, the next one was the rubric, which got handed in a little late but still got done. I started to work on the rubric and the calendar at the same time but the rubric got done first. When all of that was done the notes got done. I wanted to get a base history of Native Americans; Events and information about famous people. When I was finished with the historical notes I moved to the notes for stitch beading. I finally got all the materials together and tried to get them but where not able to get them because of the day that they would ship (which was close to exhibition time.) In the end the final product that I set out to make did not get made. The hardest challenge was not enjoying this project. Hearing the news that I wasn't able to get the materials for my final product just bumped me out and made me lose a lot of motivation for the project.
REFLECTION: The biggest thing that I learned was that if I'm interested in something I probably shouldn't have done it as a project but done it on my own time or taken a class on it. This was just something that I don't think I had enough passion for or motivation to do. The takeaways for my final project are that I did not have a final product, I was late with the majority of the assignments, and as I'm typing this I don't think that I will have a tri-fold to show for when I do present. The thing that worked for me the most would be knowing that this project was ending soon. As well as finding information quickly about stuff. My time management for this project was not good. I did the majority of the assignments late as well as finding and getting the materials for my (final) product. Enjoy the project that I am doing. As well as try to get my materials as soon as possible so I have the time to do the results.
