GOAL(s): The goal of this group project was to make a model of a school that has independent learning as the main theme. I didn't expect to learn much from this group project unit. The most learning that I got out of the whole thing was going to the interview. I learned a lot from the going to meet with the architect. The resources that we planned to use where Burke, the internet, the staff at SBHS, and the architect. I wouldn't say I chose it, it was done as a group.
OUTCOME:
The goal of the project was to have a model of a school representing the independent learning of the school. The outcomes that we got where a final model. We also got the different rooms to go into the school, the concept, and the plans. I'd say that we completed out goal, it's unfortunate because we didn't get to present in front of Burke.
REFLECTION:
I learned a lot through the interview with the architect that we did, I learned a lot about other people and myself while doing this project. The take-a-ways that I have with this project are that I didn't like it and it took awhile for us to finally get started building the model for the school. The things that worked I'd say was going into little groups when we needed to and then come together as a big group. Something else that worked was having a plan to get everything done, as much as that plan wasn't followed. I'm glad that Sam and Jesse needed my help with their idea of the school. The whole concept of Architecture didn't work for me, as well as "group." I know that it's necessary to work in a group together so I got used to that, but the Architecture thing was something that I just wasn't in to. It took us awhile to finally get started with the project. The challenges that I faced was being heard at the beginning, having my input actually be heard. Finding the will power to want to do it and find something to do without me feeling that I'm getting in the way. Probably participate more would be the main thing and find something to do.
