This class will go over the basics of Swift Water Rescue and what everyone working in and around the water should know to keep themselves out of harms way. The class will cover the basics of hydrology, hazards typically found in and associated with the environment, a discussion of safety gear, and the key points to keep you and your team safe when responding to these types of calls.
BIO
Bill Weber has been a SAR volunteer since 1972 and currently serves on the Training Staff of Alameda County SAR. In addition to being Certified as a Swift Water Rescue Instructor and having 48 years of experience running rivers he is a Post Certified instructor, holds several Instructor and Evaluator positions with the National Association of Search & Rescue and other organizations as well as having two teaching credentials for college level classes.
