Extended Incident Management SARTopo

Course Description:

This hands-on class will cover SARTopo best practices across a full incident lifecycle, from terrain size-up and initial response to managing data from extended campaign searches. Participants should already have a basic working knowledge of SARTopo, e.g. changing layers, drawing lines and points, and printing maps. Bring a laptop to get the most out of this class, although you are welcome to observe without one.

Matt Jacobs Bio:

Matt Jacobs is a member of both the Bay Area Mountain Rescue Unit and Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue. He is the creator of CalTopo and SARTopo, and has conducted research on the impact of terrain on lost person behavior.
