This course is conducted over a two day period (Friday 1400-Saturday 1600). Most of that time you will be in the field, including an overnight stay in the field. This is a "hands on" basic skills workshop held in a field environment, emphasizing active participation from class members. The class is taught by a team of 3 experienced SAR professionals and will provide answers and solutions to all those questions and uncertainties faced by newer SAR personnel.
The class is limited to 20 participants
Prerequisites:
Class members will need to bring their team's standard 24 hour field pack, as well as clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and terrain. This includes water and trail food (dehydrated meals pouches will be provided for meals in the field).
Since this is a field class, participants should equipped and in physical condition to hike a couple of miles on trail, in mountain terrain, to and from the class area.
For reference, the NASAR Consolidated Pack Guide is recommended for those class participants without a team provided list.
Arrive at SAREX in time to register and be ready to go into the field by 1400 on Friday.
