I'm a Graphic Design student at SAE with a passion for illustrating, research and weightlifting. This trimester we worked on A project which involved us working with a client and deigning a piece for Yagan tower. We also collaborated with Audio students to create some music for our project. I learnt many new skills including, After Effects and exporting. Overall I really enjoyed this project quite a lot.
I'm a very organised worker and always make sure all my work is completed on time and to the best standard that I can produce.
The Yagan Tower project is a project that requires us to create a motion graphic for Yagan tower. It is important for us to consider a multitude of things during the production of this project. We must consider the requirements of the client, what is acceptable to present to the public, what rules the tower has and what messages we want to convey. For this project we are required to create 2X posters, 1X motion graphic for the tower with audio, 1X pitch presentation that we give to the client for our ideas to be approved and 1X Documentation of the project which contains a Gantt chart, colour pallets and basic information on the idea.
I ended up changing the aesthetic and the style of my cats to cut down time spent on production and to make the animation stage easier. This was also based from feedback that I had received during my presentation by the animation lecturer as he was concerned about how I was planning on animating the cats and how effective the animations will be with the watercolour effect that I was going to use. They are much more cartoonish and look a bit more goofy than I had planned them to be. At the current moment, I am really not too happy with them, their quality just doesn't seem to sit right with me so I think I might re-do them. I ended up using a couple of meme cats to make things a little bit more familiar to some viewers, so I think the next plan of action will be to use a similar technique and just have meme cats.
I have changed my cats and created new ones. The darker cats have a slight blue tinge to them so they show up more clearly on the screen and they have more expression to them. Because they are all based from memes, they will be more well known to the audience and will be funnier to look at. It also helps me when it comes to the animation stage of the screen test.
