By Ramona Parkey and James Clark
James Clark and Ramona Parkey collaborated to create a three track acid house EP. The EP consists of three original tracks inspired by The Big Beat Manifesto. We are taking influence from the Madchester scene that dominated the UK throughout the 80's and early 90's, which included notable acts such as The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Primal Scream, New Order and The Charlatans. In this scenario, James and Ramona are acting as the clients for who they will be engineering and producing. They worked together to record drums, guitar, bass and vocals, and each separately mixed and mastered their own tracks. James' track ("Double You") takes direct inspiration from the sound of The Stone Roses and encompasses the rock 'n' roll side of the Madchester scene that went hand in hand with the rave culture. Ramona's tracks ("End Of The World," and "Filter; Funk") encompass the rave-centric side of the Madchester scene and take inspiration from Detroit techno and acid house culture, with a blend of psychedelia.
