"Space when you are 'on the verge' of something new: you are between 'what was' and 'what will be'".
MIж (mizh)
You're an urban explorer checking out a newly discovered bunker in Ukraine. You start to notice that some things look out of place, and your surroundings become more and more surreal as you progress. You feel a little uneasy, but are drawn to keep going deeper, to know more. At the bottom, you discover something incomprehensible. Is it too late to back out now?
PARALLEL WORLDS
As you make your way into the final stages of the experience, you discover that you have been exploring a space akin to the unreality between alternate realities; reinforced by the unsettling dream-like logic and elements used to build our narrative. Once you encounter the "machine" in our final room, though not explicitly stated, it is suggested that six parallel dimensions are converging to materialise the displaced rooms. This is alluded to with the use of ambiguous visual elements dispersed throughout the environment:
SIX
Hexagonal wallpaper pattern
Umbrella with a 6 sided canopy
The Cyrillic letter in our project title, ж (zhe), with 6 prongs extending from a central point
Numbers 1 to 6 sprinkled across the map, representing the 6 separate dimensions
