Linear Perspective

The setting of the drawing on the left is a fictional room that's only requirement was to have every item on the criteria. The subject of the second one is the hallway outside of the art room with a panda sitting in the middle. Both of these were made using light pencils, and a straight edge. For the one on the right, it seemed very faint so I went over each line with a sharpie to make them darker. For the one on the left, I started without a plan and just began drawing, from there as I added each item it began to take shape. For the one on the right, we were tasked with drawing the hallway. However, after I had finished I was encouraged to add creative flare so I drew the panda in the center.

In the drawing on the left I used soft focus because all of my lines are very faint, giving the drawing a more relaxed feel to it. On the one on the right, I used a sharpie to darken my lines which created sharp focus. This makes the drawing seem more bold and realistic despite the lack of color and texture. As I said before, the one on the left started without a plan and it was just me knocking one item off the list at a time and it came out fairly well. For the drawing on the right, I was sitting right in the center of the hallway I was drawing so it didn't take much creativity until I was finished and added the panda.

The drawing on the left is of a soft, and relaxing room. The style and the lines make it seem very calm and comfortable despite the sharp edges on the chairs and the couches. The second one could be interpreted a number of different ways. I think that most viewers would be drawn to the panda because it is the focal point and it seems so out of place. The drawing on the left sort of reflected the mood I was in when I drew it and I think that is very good. The drawing on the right began very plain and dull, but when I revisited it, I added the panda which I think really gives it a spark of interest which brings it from being just a drawing to being art. The things I would change are that I would darken the lines of the drawing on the left because it seems very faint, although I would not want to ruin the feelings that the soft lines give off so I would probably do it in a very fine tip pen or darker pencil. Also I would learn how to add texture to surfaces like the couch and how to add shadows for the panda in the one on the right and for the chairs in the one on the left.
