Gelatin Prints

The subject of this piece, is an ink print of some wax paper strips that I colored in. This was made using wax paper, a gelatin pad, ink, paper, and colored pencils. I chose this print because of the nine that we made, I thought it was the coolest one. Then after I colored it in I thought it looked even better bc it looked like the actual pieces of paper were still there.

In this piece, I used sharp focus because the lines are very distinct which makes the paper look more distinctive and makes the colors pop more. I also used framing because the original piece had a large border around it. This project did not change much from the original idea. I began by making a print of some wax paper sprinkled randomly onto the gelatin pad. Then I used colored pencils to shade in each strip of paper.

The story behind this is that I put some wax paper on a gelatin pad and made an ink print. Then I colored it in. It relates to my life because I made it. I'm not especially bothered by this piece. I like the way it turned out. Although it is kind of boring.
