Blind Contour

For this drawing, we were tasked with drawing 4 things, 2 hands and 2 heads. The trick was that while you were drawing you couldn't pick up your pen or look at your drawing. Once that was finished, we were tasked with using water colors to paint it. I chose to make mine abstract by filling in the individual shapes created by the overlapping patterns. The artwork is not arranged very purposefully, before each drawing I would try to find some white space to draw but they ended up overlapping some which is good.

In my artwork, there are lots of vivid lines, then when we were supposed to use watercolors, I chose very vivid colors which caused the drawing to have strong contrast between the different shapes. This project changed a lot. It started off with just a single blind contour drawing of my hand, then another, then a drawing of Ben's face at the top, and a drawing of mine in the bottom corner. Then I colored it.

This project has no deeper meaning, it is just a jumble of shapes with vivid colors. I suppose if it were to relate to my life it would symbolize the organized chaos in my life right now. If I were to revise it, I would add a background to fill up white space.
