Altered Process

The subject of this image is my girlfriend piper, in the original image she was lying on the centerline of a back road. We were just kind of hanging out and taking pictures of each other using our cameras, we both enjoy photography quite a bit. I turned this into a negative on transparency paper, exposed it, then developed it by painting developer on the image.

This image uses leading lines as well as formal balance with where Piper is positioned in the frame, as well as low key lighting due to the nature of the altered process. I had several similar pictures from this day but this was one of my favorites and I decided to use it for this process.

I enjoy spending time with Piper, and we both enjoy photography, so it was pretty fun to just hang out and take pictures. I wish I had maybe exposed it a little more to darken the whole image but other than that I am pretty satisfied with this image.
