Food

I took this picture over February Break on a beach in the Bahamas for our food project. Even though this is a drink I decided to use it anyways because it was very tropical. There was a wooden chair on the beach and I placed the Piña Colada on the arm of it and positioned it so that you can only really see the beach and ocean behind it. I had this idea in the back of my mind since I found out what the assignment was, I had known I wanted to take a picture of a drink on the beach, and this was my opportunity. I used selective focus as well as high key lighting and formal balance for this image, and edited it to make it brighter and increased the saturation of the image so the water was more vibrant.

I used formal balance with the cup in the middle, high key lighting to brighten the image,, and selective focus on the arm of the chair and the drink itself. Honestly it didn't change much, I had this idea pretty solidly in my head, I knew this was what I wanted to do for this project, I took several pictures but they were all of this, I just chose the best one and edited it to my liking.

I wanted to get a picture of a tropical drink on a tropical beach, we were at a national park on the island of New Providence, and we had just gone snorkeling off a different beach and were spending the rest of the day there, and there was a place to get drinks so I took the opportunity to take this picture. I really like the beach and ocean, as well as Piña Coladas. I had to crop the image to take out a few people and chairs on the sides of the image, and I wish they hadn't been there because I could have had some trees in the shot as well.
