ABSTRACT

The question discussed in this capstone project is "What is the process for development and performance in theme park productions?" The purpose of this question is to find out how the process differs from what the author experienced in college theatre and what makes it so unique. The question also endeavors to provide insight for the author’s decision regarding a potential theatrical career path in an amusement park in the future. Many amusement park performers were interviewed during this process, and they all had good and negative experiences with their jobs. There were also many articles that were read for this project, which mainly focused on information about theme parks and why people should or even shouldn’t work there. Speaking with all the current or past actors and reading informational articles had a large impact on the author, who has made the decision to pursue a theatrical career in the theme park segment.
