ABSTRACT

Providing a variety of the arts to preschoolers can help them in many areas of learning within a school setting or outside of the classroom. Music can aid in the understanding of fractions and keeping time, which in turn can support learning math, science and chemistry skills. The arts are a way for children to express emotions. Dance and painting are two types of arts that are opportunities for expressing emotion without the need for words. Open exploration of the different arts can allow for the identification of natural talents that may not be otherwise acknowledged. There are multiple benefits of exposure to a variety of forms of art. Grant funds will help with additional staffing and provide art materials that will be utilized to make sure that all the children in the program have the supplies they need. The Art Explorers Program will allow children an opportunity to gain a deeper appreciation of art which can enhance their overall development.
