ABSTRACT
What do teachers and children do on those days that are too cold and wet to go out? They stay inside and explore. Children need indoor experiences to explore and help promote development. Indoor experiences help children to get creative and be physically active. The goal of the grant fund is to create an indoor playground area that is appropriate for children in preschool. Indoor gross motor experiences are often limited because outdoor exploring is more readily available. Teachers have observed how children are not as engaged with the indoor materials in the gym as they are with the outdoor play equipment. Creative Hands Preschool will add play mats, a playscape, and a climbing wall. These items would also support the children with enhanced gross motor experience on a daily basis. Providing children with an effective indoor play area with engaging equipment can help them be creative and physically active when playing indoors on the days that are too cold and wet to go outside.
