Dear RGS Community,
I invite you to join us on Tuesday, May 20, for an information session about a major step forward in the evolution of Rio Grande School. This summer, we will break ground on the next biggest thing at RGS—a transformative, multi-phased campus improvement project.
For the past two years, we have been working closely with the architectural firm DNCA to develop a master plan that includes a new Co-Curricular Hub and the eventual replacement of our Early Childhood building. This project will provide state-of-the-art spaces for science, visual arts, and performing arts, while also enhancing the flow of our campus and integrating landscaping that reflects the natural biomes of New Mexico. A nature play zone at the heart of campus will offer students an imaginative and enriching outdoor experience.
These plans respond to a clear need: replacing our aging art/science portable and the Early Childhood building. Yet what began as a necessity is now an opportunity to do something visionary—to reimagine our campus in a way that supports joyful, integrated learning and honors our connection to place.
At the information sessions, we’ll share:
An overview of the phased construction plan.
Details on the new buildings and landscape design.
What to expect on campus beginning this summer.
Please join us in the library at 8:00 a.m. or 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 20. These sessions are purely informational; a full campaign launch will occur next fall.
We look forward to sharing this exciting next chapter with you.
