The Economics department has secured a year-long department wide Stata/SE license which is valid until August 15th each year. This license can be installed on any student, staff, and faculty machines that are a member of the Economics department.
Please do not share this license with anyone outside of the department. Doing so may result in our department’s license being revoked for everyone.
Stata installers with license information may be downloaded in ZIP format from the following locations:

Inside each ZIP, you will find a file named 401809300744.pdf which contains the license information
New installation, or have Stata 17 installed
Download Stata for your respective operating system version from the links above.
Follow the instructions outlined in the Installation Guide to install the flavor of Stata designated on your License and Activation Key: https://www.stata.com/install-guide. Here you will find helpful step-by-step installation instructions and other resources.
Use the information located in 401809300744.pdf to initialize Stata: Launch Stata and follow the prompts to enter the requested information, which includes the serial number, code, and authorization located on the attached License and Activation Key.
Have Stata 18 installed with expired license key
Ensure Stata is closed, and delete the old license file (STATA.LIC) located in the following directory:
Windows: C:\Program Files\Stata18\
Mac: /Applications/Stata/
Linux: /usr/local/stata18/
Relaunch Stata, and enter the license information located in 401809300744.pdf
