All J-PAL staff across offices - including interns and other temporary staff, are eligible to have a biography (bio) page on the J-PAL website. Each page includes a headshot photo, a written bio about the staff member, and their J-PAL email address. The website team at J-PAL Global oversees the staff section of the website and makes all edits to staff bio pages. Pages are located on https://www.povertyactionlab.org/staff.
Note: In late 2023, J-PAL Global changed the process for uploading/changing website headshot photos. New process is described below.
Adding a new bio page: New hires should consult Global's J-PAL Website Biography Guidelines and take the following steps during onboarding:
Draft a written biography based on the guidelines, and share that draft with your supervisor for review. After review, add the written biography to your Salesforce contact record under "Additional Information" > "Web Bio".
Upload a headshot photo into this Google Drive folder and enter your name in this spreadsheet to have ensure your page upload is included in the next batch of updates. In the same row, you should also include your regional office (North America), submission date and the appropriate status, which is "Uploaded to Folder"
If you have an existing headshot photo that meets guidelines, feel free to upload that and the website team will resize it for the website. If you do not have a professional headshot, please check with Isaak Kifle (HR Manager) or Lesley Harkins (Sr. Events Associate) as they may be able to make arrangements to have your photo taken.
After you have taken the above steps, J-PAL Global's website team should include your website upload in the next batch of updates.
Editing an existing bio page: If you have an existing bio page, you can use the following instructions to submit edits:
Editing the bio text: Login to your Salesforce contact record and overwrite your existing bio text with your new text. Saving edits on this page will trigger an update to Global's website team to make the update.
Changing the headshot photo: Please note that this process changed in late 2023. Upload your new headshot into this Google Drive folder and enter your name in this spreadsheet to have ensure your page upload is included in the next batch of updates. In the "Status" field, please select "Uploaded to Folder". It may also be helpful to link to your existing web page, but this is not required.
Please contact Isaak Kifle at ikifle@povertyactionlab.org if you have any questions about this process or need assistance.
