PSA for Mr. Garland's social studies classes: Please work your way through this webpage, top to bottom, to complete the assigned activities for Tuesday the 7th.
Please watch a brief section of the video linked on the left. Start at 8:00 and only watch until 15:00.
The video will begin with British warships opening fire on New York and end with POWs in the harbor.
Once you have finished watching the 7-minute section from the video above, you will do some light research on the HMS Jersey. You can use the 3 links below, or do your own research. TASK: in your notebooks, write down 5 facts about the HMS Jersey during the American Revolution. You can use up to two facts from the video for your list.
Once you have finished your list of 5 facts, you will move on to our next iteration of Be Washington. To access the website, you can click the link below or search for "Be Washington" on Google. Today you will be playing through the scenario title "1777 Battle of Second Trenton." You will debrief the simulation with Mr. Garland when he returns.
If the simulation does not load immediately, BE PATIENT. It may take a few minutes for everybody to get logged on. You can click refresh every :15 or so. Eventually it will work and take you to the following screens:
