INTRODUCTION
To help us learn what the atmosphere was truly like in Boston during the beginning of the Revolutionary time period, you will be working through an RPG (role playing game). You will play as a character who travels to Boston and gets involved in the craziness there that eventually leads to revolution. You will make choices that have real consequences as an apprentice for a newspaper owner who has a very strong opinion on things happening there.
It’s hard to imagine what life was like 250 years ago, so the goal of this RPG is to put you in the streets of Boston to meet various people and get mixed up in the craziness that happens during this time period. You will be able to play feisty and rude to the British soldiers, or obedient without causing any trouble. At the end, you will take the witness stand and decide if you want to help the Patriots or be loyal to the British.
IMPORTANT: You will need earbuds/listening devices for this! It's much better if you listen!
GETTING STARTED
Click on the Mission U.S. link above. You will see their home screen, which looks like the image above.
Go to the top right of the screen and click on CREATE ACCOUNT.
Click on STUDENT and create an account. I would just use your school username and password to be simple. If you don't have a pet, just make something up. Click SUBMIT.
4. You should see this screen next. Do NOT print anything. If you made your Username and Password to be different from your school ones, then right it down in your planner to remember it.
5. At the top of this screen, click on PLAY.
6. There are 7 RPGs listed on the next screen. Put your cursor over the game on the top left: For Crown or Colony. Now you can click START MISSION.
7. SCROLL down a little bit and you should see this screen. Click on START MISSION.
8. GO to Google Class. Open up the Mission US Part 1 Doc. You will need to complete this doc as you work through Part 1.
9. TUESDAY: You will be completing the Epilogue and Part 1 for Wednesday. DO NOT GO PAST PART 1. It will save the game for you.
10. PLAY: Try to sell 3 ads for Master Edes!
