If you spend time in the parts of the South today, you will see reminders of the region's Confederate past. Many cities have statues and monuments dedicated to soldiers lost in the war or important generals. It's also possible you may see people wearing clothes or hats featuring the Confederate battle flag.
To some, this is a harmless way to represent their heritage or past. To others, this is a way to honor a past that separated from the Union for the purpose of preserving slavery.
In this short Problem Solving Activity, you will be taking a look at both sides of the argument before coming to a final conclusion. It is due tomorrow.
