As a counselor training clinic situated in the Department of Counselor Education, the Community Counseling Clinic (CCC) does host research projects. Research conducted in the CCC must be approved by Portland State University's Institutional Review Board (IRB). It is the responsibility of the primary investigator to acquire approval from the IRB and communicate approval to the Clinic Director. The Clinic Director will work with the primary investigator to coordinate accommodations for the research project, and to determine feasibility of the study. CCC practicum and intern counselors will be made aware when research is being conducted in the clinic, and trained to support the research efforts, as relevant and appropriate.
