*Session recording will occur automatically through the Zoom platform. As some services are being delivered remotely, counselors are responsible for ensuring that recording settings are accurate and ready before the start of sessions. All sessions must be recorded to the cloud and sharing of recordings is prohibited without the direct, documented request of the instructor.*
There are several main components to the Community Counseling Clinic's (CCC) technology and assessment procedures: the CCC recording system, the SD Card protocols, the Clinic Core Room, and the Session Review Lab. This webpage will provide an extensive overview of the technological procedures associated with the CCC recording system and technology protocols.
First, all students must sign a recording privacy contract prior to using the clinic recording system. Failure to abide by all components of this contract may result in a failing in practicum. Should a device be lost the student will be responsible for paying for the replacement of the device and will have to have a conversation with the Clinic Director about client protection and legal issues.
Community Counseling Clinic Video Viewing Procedures
You are required to view at least one of your sessions every week. Failure to view your videos at least will result in contact with faculty instructor and Clinic Director.
For Telehealth sessions, be sure you have set up your sessions to automatically record each week. You will have to delete these after they are reviewed each week, from your Zoom account, and from your My Media page which is maintained for all PSU students.
For In-Person sessions, set up the in room computers by opening a Zoom room via your PSU Zoom account and setting it to record. This will have to be done for each in-person session. You will have to delete these after they are reviewed each week, from your Zoom account, and from your My Media page which is maintained for all PSU students.
Clinic Core Room
One of the most unique features of the Community Counseling Clinic is the ability to conduct live supervision via the core room. Each counseling room is equipped with a two-way mirror that is connected to the core room for peer supervisors to watch counseling sessions live. Given that all counseling rooms are connected in the core, it is imperative for peer supervisors to only watch their supervisees' sessions, which they have been granted access to - unless otherwise instructed by the Practicum Instructor. Supervisors and/or other counselors who are granted access into the core are strictly prohibited from conducting any other activities that extend beyond what has been permitted. In order to avoid disturbing counseling sessions, core room lights MUST REMAIN OFF and supervisors must keep volume of speech to a minimum.
Supervisors who watch another counselor's session without consent to do so is in breach of confidentiality and in violation of HIPAA regulations.
